The work of contemporary Georgia-based painter David Gaither will be featured in a solo show this fall at 511 Gallery. Axiom will run from October 21, 2016 - December 5, 2016, with an opening reception on Thursday, October 20, from 6 - 8 pm.
Gaither's tapestry-like, often triptych paintings are composed of both abstract and figurative shapes in bold, saturated colors. These overwhelming, hyperdynamic works mix reality with fantasy in their formal and symbolic experimentation.
Gaither’s other upcoming exhibitions include More is More: The Maximalist Paintings of David Gaither at the St. Lawrence University Museum Richard F. Brush Gallery from January 18 - February 25, 2017; a four-month show at the Albany Museum of Art, East Gallery in Albany Georgia from May 25 to August 26, 2017.
David Gaither's work will also be exhibited in the solo shows Look a Little Closer at Dubner Moderne in Lausanne, Switzerland from September 28 to November 11 and Land of Maximalism at Stella Jones Gallery in New Orleans, opening on November 18th.
