The photography and video work of Rebecca Soderholm will be featured alongside the paintings of Lisa Lebofsky in in Place, an exhibition at the Visual Arts Gallery at SUNY Adirondack. The show will be open from September 8, 2016 - November 3, 2016, with an opening reception on Tuesday, September 15, from 6 - 8pm.

Lebofsky and Soderholm both have close ties to the state of New York; its people and landscapes are often the subjects of their work. Lebofsky’s compositions in oil on aluminum are nearly sublime in their meditative qualities, drawing the viewer in to contemplate the effects of human actions on the natural world. Through her perceptive approach, Soderholm’s works present the intricate and inherent relationships between people living Upstate and their surroundings. Though the show is grounded in New York, the ideas embedded in in Place are universal threads that connect the works to stories much larger than themselves.

in Place was curated by Rebecca Pelchar, Curator of the Visual Arts Gallery, and Gemma McElroy and Mara Miller for 511 Projects.

The gallery is located at 640 Bay Road, Queensbury, NY and is open Monday – Thursday 10:00am-3:00pm, with extended hours on Tuesday and Wednesday 5:30-7:30pm. More information about the gallery can be found at www.sunyacc.edu/studentlife/visualartsgallery/current.
