Susanne Ramsenthaler's ephemeral photographs of familiar objects such as soap and jellyfish explore metamorphosis, light, and color. Ramsenthaler studied at the Munich College of Building and Design and the Fachakademie fur Fotodesign, also in Munich, and took her MFA at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Her work is mostly lens-based, encompassing a wide range of practice, from antique non-silver printing techniques to video, digital imaging and computer animation. Ramsenthaler exhibits widely on a national and international level. Her work has been shown in the U.S., South Africa, Spain, Germany, Croatia, the U.K, and at the St. Petersburg Biennale, Russia. Ramsenthaler lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland.
